Getting Started

Ashfall Idle is a dark fantasy idle RPG set in a world buried beneath volcanic ash. Train 28 skills, battle 59 monsters, conquer 14 dungeons, collect 20 combat pets, and forge legendary weapons from the ruins of the old world.

New Player Path

  1. Gather: Start Woodcutting and Mining — logs and ores fund everything else.
  2. Smith: Smelt ores into bars, forge your first Iron or Steel weapon and armor.
  3. Cook: Cook raw fish from Fishing — food is your combat lifeline.
  4. Fight: Enter Combat, equip your gear, and work up from Chickens → Goblins → Bandits.
  5. Farm: Plant seeds — they grow while you do other activities. Free XP and food.
  6. Unlock: Higher combat levels open better areas, dungeons, and world bosses.
  7. Collect: Pets drop from monsters. Equip one — it fights alongside you every battle.

Combat System

Ashfall uses a real-time tick-based combat system. Player and monster attack on independent timers. Damage, status effects, and pet actions all process each tick (~600ms). Both HP bars update every tick — you will see the fight happening in real time.

Attack Animations

Each equipped weapon triggers a unique attack animation on hit. Scimitars show fast curved slashes, godswords show slow heavy arcs, the Voidreaper shows void cracks, fire weapons leave ember trails, and the Void Emperor's Staff opens a reality tear. The monster shakes and flashes on each hit received.

Multi-Mob Encounters

Some combat areas trigger multi-mob encounters — 2 to 5 enemies attack you simultaneously, each on their own independent attack timer. Each mob has its own HP bar card. Click any card to switch your target. Auto-targeting switches to the next alive mob when your current target dies.

When multiple enemies are alive, all of them are attacking you every tick. Use protection prayers appropriately — a prayer hint banner tells you what attack types are active.

Combat Pets

Combat pets fight alongside you every battle. Each pet has an ability that fires every N player attacks, plus a permanent passive bonus. Only one pet can be equipped at a time. Pets drop from specific monster kills at fixed rates.

Each equipped pet's ability counter increments after every player attack. When it reaches the trigger threshold, the ability fires automatically — the combat arena shows a brief flash of what the pet did.

Farming

Farming lets you grow crops passively in real time. Plants grow while you do other things — check back to water, de-weed, and harvest. Start early: even potatoes at level 1 provide free food for combat.

Thieving

Steal gold and items from NPCs and market stalls. This is the most dangerous non-combat skill — getting caught costs HP, and pushing your luck can trigger a full combat encounter.

Core Mechanics

Stun: Each attempt has a stun chance (3%–50%). Getting caught: pauses the action, deals HP damage, increases target Anger.

Stun damage: random(1, stunDmgBase) + targetLevel/10

Anger: Builds per stun. Decays slowly on successes. Tracked per-target persistently.

Fight trigger: fightChance = (0.02 + level/90 × 0.08) + anger × 0.40

A max-anger level-90 King has a 75% chance to initiate combat on the next stun. When triggered, your HP carries over to the fight.

Death: If your HP drops to 0 while thieving, you lose 50% of your gold and action stops. HP restores to full.

Auto-eat fires at 40% HP using food from your Food Bag. You can also eat manually from the status bar. Mastery reduces effective stun chance by 0.3% per level.

62 waves of escalating monsters. Final boss: TzTok-Jad (Combat Level 702, hits 97 per attack). Jad telegraphs his attack — watch his animation and switch between Protect from Magic and Protect from Ranged. Reward: Fire Cape.
